Meet Our Featured Artists

Ten unique voices, one inspiring collection

Melanie Cambridge

Surrey-based landscape and seascape artist working mainly in oils and gouache, capturing wide skies, coastal light, and atmospheric moods. Author of four instructional art books and creator of her own brush and gouache range. Leads workshops and painting holidays across the UK. Represented at The Wey Gallery in Godalming; Purley-based studio open by appointment.

Maggie Penton

Experimental artist and printmaker who melds drawing, painting, and collagraph techniques into richly textured works inspired by the natural world. Active at Oaks Park Printmakers (Carshalton); exhibits regularly in Denbies Vineyard and Landmark Arts Centre; teaches playful, exploratory screenprinting workshops.

Simon Robin Stephens

Sutton-based watercolour artist creating soulful, story-rich paintings inspired by inner sanctuaries imagined in childhood to cope with undiagnosed ADHD. His expressive works — often described as "portals of resilience" — blend lyrical colour, emotional honesty, and a sense of dreamlike calm. Simon exhibits widely across Surrey and South London (including Carshalton Artists Open Studios and the Imaginism Exhibition) and sells originals, prints, and gifts through his online shop. His current collection *Sanctuaries of the Mind* explores healing, imagination, and transformation through watercolour.

Simon Bailey

South London–based landscape painter, known for vibrant oil paintings of skies, woodlands, and atmospheric clouds. His music-informed, dyslexia-informed creative process pours energy and emotion into every piece. Originals available online (approx. £500–£2,250); exhibits across Surrey.

David Sprot

Self-taught contemporary expressionist working primarily in acrylics. Known for colourful, emotionally resonant landscapes and seascapes—often featured with Surrey Contemporaries and exhibited at Denbies Vineyard near Dorking. Awarded Artist of the Month by Guildford Arts Society in September 2020.

Jean Threlkeld

Portrait and realist painter specialising in intricately observed intimate portraits and domestic scenes.

Alan Stoney

Wildlife artist based in Surrey; his realistic paintings depict birds and animals through expressive brushwork. Active member of local nature and birding groups, working in acrylic, watercolour, and oils.
